This album differs from previous C93 albums in that there is a great variety in musical textures.Whereas previous albums seemed to be underpinned by a distinctive sound reflecting the musician(s)involved,Aleph seems to flow and ebb in different directions reflecting Davids own musical influences from prog to doom.Lyrically its very strong,with its themes of Adam coming down to Earth,the Hallucinatory Mountain.A really accomplished work that has much depth revealed on repeated listenings.Definitely a Parrot fave for 2009.
Fucked Up deliver the goods with one of the Parrot personal faves.Backed up with a No Age remix.

Early recordings rereleased on a triple vinyl(also available on a 2CD).This set collects up hard to find limited releases from Ben Chasney early work.Avant folk/psych-call it what you want but this is some of the most enchantingt music currently surfacing.Excellent.
It seems that AC have really found their musical feet with this album which has a more rounded sound than previous albums.The Beach Boys-esque harmonies are still prevalent but the song structures while still far from traditional manage to retain coherency which maybe made makes this album stand out to the listener.An early contender for album of 2009.
Excellent updsate of the sound warp is known and loved for.While you can hear strains of Aphex and early Detroit techno this Cds has assimilated the bass music of dubstep and contemporaries like Flying Lotus.Not to say that this album copies as it stands as innovative electronicica.

Duppy Man provides a steppy roller of a tune with squelching b line.Subwayz tune sizzles like hot fat over a morphing bassline.Top notch.

Drawing influences from dark garage and warm electronica, it's a deceptively devastating tune that weaves its way into the listener’s brain. The B side sees Pangaea exploring his sound further. Ignoring the current trend towards throwaway dancefloor material, 'Nest' is a texturally dense slice of meditative dubstep. Its warped bassline underpins dusty atmospherics and melancholy strings. 'Deviant' rounds off the proceedings in spectacular fashion, sounding like the South London equivalent of mid-90s Berlin.
