Ponytail are another Baltimore band from the same scene as the Death Set.Their music is total spastic bliss, a complete sugar high freak out, smiles, dimples and grins beam from the crowd to the band, and from band to crowd.It seems theres a great little scene in the US at the moment based in the DIY ethic combining simple electro riffs with fun punk riffage.Here at Tangled Towers we're watching/listening keenly.Whens the UK catching up?

Rudimentary Peni were always one of the more interesting bands lumped into the anarcho tag.Not afraid to step out of the box.Their excellent tribute to Edgar Allen Poe,Cacophany,bears testament to this.This new album is unmistakenly Peni,Blinkos' tortured vocals and the buzzing saw guitar work.Intense but pleasing.

The Bug(Kevin Martin)has created a hybrid monster.Part dancehall,part harsh electronics,grime,dubstep all thrown in a blender with some fine vocalists.The album opens with Tippa Irie declaring anger at the state of the modern world.Lyrically its a feature of the album.Warrior Queen adds venom as does Ricky Ranking,Spaceape and Roll Deeps' Flowdan.The bass is punishing throughout underpinned by tight beats.Contender for electronic album of 2008.
